Until last week, Zulqarnain Abdu-Shahid was a chaplain for NYC Department of Correction. Things changed when Mr. Shahid was arrested for allegedly trying to bring contraband to one of New York City jails. He was caught after guards X-rayed his bag at the jailhouse entrance and found razor blades and scissors. Shahid was charged in Manhattan Criminal Court with four counts of Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, a class D felony, and four counts of Promoting Prison Contraband in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor.
