Rodney Mills, former drug counselor of New Spirit II in Queens, New York, pleads guilty to forging false drug dependency treatment reports for certain patients.

New Spirit II is a rehabilitation clinic which specializes in providing drug abuse treatment services to court ordered defendants. During Mills’ employment with New Spirit II, between November 23, 2007 and February 5, 2009, Mills was required to report to the Queens Drug Treatment Court the status of criminal defendant patients.

However, Mills’ guilty plea revealed that he was filing a false certificate of completion, which includes various false progress reports for various defendants, with the Queens Drug Treatment Court by forging the program director’s signature, in one instance.

Mills now faces a maximum penalty of 6 years in prison for 2nd degree forgery.
