New York State Employee Pleads Guilty To Using Taxpayer’s Money For Personal Gain

Robert Pagini, former Senior Mail and Supply Clerk for the New York State Department of Health pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree for inappropriately using approximately $16,000 of the Department of Health’s postage meter to send eBay auctioned items to his bidders, and other personal mail.

Between March 2004 and January 2010, Pagini was mainly selling rare coins and currency over eBay and was using the New York State Department of Health’s postage machine to pay for the shipping postage. Pagini also admitted to using the postage machine to pay for the postage on his personal mail. After 6 years of inappropriate use, Pagini used approximately $16,000 of taxpayers’ money for his own gain.

If convicted, Pagini faces a maximum penalty of 3 years in prison.
